Do it right the first time

Examples of poorly conceived and constructed infrastructure projects are numerous. As Mr. Ibañez points out in this post, the shared and underlying cause of these calamities is a lack of preparation (World Bank, 2021). Often, the perceived need or political will for a project is sufficient to move forward with its implementation. Taking a breath to survey the alternatives and evaluate long-term scenarios may be a little painstaking, but in the end, it will result in a much more informed decision. Excluding the environmental and societal benefits that result from proper planning, the cost savings alone is too great to ignore. ESSAFIN Logic includes ESG risk criteria to evaluate project alternatives and incorporate life cycle thinking. If you do it right the first time, once is enough (Mae West).
